I have a large inner tortoise and the loose substrate was getting unwieldy (especially in her dip) and despite trying different species/brands there were always bugs. It's easy to clean and I know I no longer have to worry about my plumbing. I've been using this for several months and the bugs are finally gone! I can safely say that we are both happy. I will not go back to the old ways.
