I connected them to the vacuum cleaner. I like my Dyson but I miss the world! Most vacuum cleaners don't come with it anymore, but I wanted one. It works well in this app, but where they REALLY work well is in closets! I had an extra one as I only used one for the vacuum cleaner (attached with photo tape) so I put the others in my linen closet. Wow! I simply attached a small metal plate with sticky putty so if I didn't like it there I could easily remove the plate without damaging it. I love her there! I can see all the little bottles of things I hide in the baskets and I don't need to take a flashlight to see things from behind. This is a deeper cabinet and illuminates each shelf beautifully. I like that they hold and move on because they only appear when they move. And you don't have to remember to turn them off. Then you just take them out when they're dead (after a few months) and charge them via USB. Then just put them back on as they are magnetic. I've knocked them over a few times by pulling out a bit (I installed them under the shelf above but you just put them back in. I can get a few more for my daughter's apartment where there is no under cabinet lighting. I will probably use adhesive strips or command strips like this to attach a metal plate so they can be easily removed without being damaged when moved.
