For straining car paint and filler primer. They worked great with my HVLP spray gun. The filters came with a silicone funnel, but in most cases this wasn't necessary as the cones support themselves fairly well when placed in a 2.5" or larger mug and don't warp even when they are filled to 1/2 inch from the top. Depending on the condition of your paint, it should pass through the screen well enough to remove larger particles that are blocking the atomizer. The mesh size is 100 micrometers (0.1 mm) and they have been filtering reliably so far. They are essential when spraying any type of paint.
