So I already have the Elite Series 2. This new Razer Wolverine 2 isn't like that, but it compares well in a few key areas. I bought it for $80 instead of the usual $100 and it seems about right. If you can find it even cheaper, it almost becomes a must-buy. The negatives have been removed. It's wired. It can't be used on a wireless network, and if it can, it might even be better than the Elite. Now I obviously knew it was plugged in and it's not a deal breaker if used on my PC (that's where I use it) but it's totally unsuitable for my XBox with this setup. If having a wireless controller is important, pass this guy on. I'm also not a fan of extra trigger buttons. In theory I'm a fan, just not their arrangements. They just don't seem practical or easy to use. I'm sure others have no problem posting them, but that's impractical. That being said, I've never used the extra buttons, not even the Elite's extra paddles, so it's up to the user. Pros: buttons. Oh those mechanical switches. It will take a minute to get used to, but once you do, you will be much more comfortable to use. It's hard to explain, but if you've used a mechanical keyboard, you'll understand. Yes, they are important. build quality. The feel of this guy in your hand is real. I won't say it's better than the Elite, but it's on par with them. Sticks, triggers, grip texture in hand. The overall package screams quality and is a joy to use. I will say that the menu button layout is strange and unusual. Nothing wrong, but if you're switching between this guy and a regular XBox controller, it takes a minute for your brain to remember where it was when you first switch back and forth. If you don't mind a wired controller or the lack of rear paddles and want to feel premium, finding one in the $70-$80 range is a no-brainer.
