Took about 20 minutes to install but I have experience installing rear view cameras. This kit is directly plug and play and very easy to install. Worth everything but the money spent. To install, remove the trunk lid trim and then the license plate light cover. The license plate light cover has 6 nuts to unscrew, then use pliers to loosen the center alignment clip (large white clip in the middle). I used pliers to hold the clamp and tapped it lightly with a small hammer. Then, on the outside of the trunk, gently lift each corner until the side clips release. The lid will fall off. Drill a hole in the center with a 5/16 bit and align with the Toyota emblem. Wipe it with alcohol, and then stick a 3m tape on the camera. Pass the camera cables through the hole, carefully level the camera and set it to 3m. Use the included nut to secure the camera. I ran through the license plate light socket as it doesn't kink and has a locking strip to secure it. Then stretch the wire and leave it there. Do not install the trunk trim yet. Now go to the center console and pull the two side panels towards you next to the niche, they should pop out. Then release the brake and put the car in neutral. Turn the shift knob counterclockwise to remove it. Then lift the speed selector cover at each corner. Then look deep under the cabinet and you should see the jar. Do not install the 10-pin connector yet. Now connect the long wire harness to the 10-pin wire harness. There should be two red wires, connect them together and wrap them securely with electrical shrink wrap or whatever you like. Now run a long wire harness through the entire machine (it should be clear how to route it once you remove the plastic covers over the entire machine). Connect the long wire harness to the camera wire harness and align the arrows so they point towards each other. Now connect the 10 pin harness, close the trunk and put the reverse gear in, it should light up. Now uncover the wiring harness you ran through the car and put everything back together (trunk lid, c9ver license plate cover, etc.). Now everything is done very, very simply. If you don't use a ground wire (I didn't), wrap the end in tape and secure the extra wire for easy hiding later. Have fun with your new camera! **UPDATE** I've been using this camera kit for over a year now and it's still working great. Worth every penny!
