Reduces squeaks

These screws definitely stopped our old 1930's wood floor from creaking. You'll have to poke quite a bit in to stop this, but it's fairly easy to cover up the holes with wood putty. The big problem I have is with the tool you use to break off the top of the screw. That never worked for me. And when I use the handpiece I leave big scratches on my floor. I resorted to using pliers and it helped. All in all I think it's a good idea. The plastic pry tool needs to be reconsidered or at least made to

Great solution, but not perfect yet.

No-Grind method works as intended and is much cleaner than traditional nails or screws. Unfortunately, they weren't enough to save my hardwood floors, so I ended up installing laminate. I recommend this product to anyone with a squeaky floor worth saving; However, there are some areas that could be improved. The first is the diameter of the top bolt, after the screws are inserted and snapped in, the bolt stays firmly in the new threaded hole. It's not that easy to remove, just a tug on the…

Then you can easily break it off with the open part of the device

It helps. Sometimes it just shifts the beep, but in this case it calms it down. I disagree with the screw size information. Sometimes they don't snap, but using 7/16 helps with that. If they don't break, it's no big deal. Simply fold it back, remove the bracket and insert the screw just below the break point. You can then break it off fairly easily with the open part of the jig. There doesn't appear to be any replacement packaging for the 3232 kit. However, it looks like 3251 is the same and I…

These work great!

I ordered drop down floor brackets to stop some horrible floor squeaking with my hardwood floors at the side of my bed and at the entrance to my bedroom, they didn't work at all. I was scared of drilling holes above the floor in my wooden floor but the squeaks were just awful so I bought this product and after following the instructions it worked great, no more squeaks! The hole I had to make to put the screws in is so small that you can't see it unless you look closely, and I was even able to…

It took too many screws to fix the creaking.

Find a less invasive solution. This solution works, but you may need a lot of screws to stop the squeaking, meaning a lot of hardwood floor patching and stain picking up. It took me so many screws to stop the creaking that it ruined my hardwood floor. You have to find the center of the squeak and then aim at it to stop the noise. That's fixed, and then the details around him were still creaking. So if you have a simple problem with a plank or two, this product may be the best solution for you…

Works great in the right circumstances

They fit me perfectly. I've never had failures. I have solid oak boards about 3/4" thick. I don't think they work well with thinner floors. I drilled 3/32 holes. I use a variable speed drill bit. I drill at a constant slow speed, until the head touches the guide. Then I quickly switch to high speed by quickly pulling the trigger. This rapid increase in torque almost always causes the propeller to fail. About 5% of the time, the screw spins and nothing breaks. I don't know why this happens…

All scripts fixed!

The product is just fantastic! My floors are 8 inches wide and the house is very old. Some of the boards show curves. The squeaks were just awful, especially in the most passable spots in the house. I thought this product might help with the squeaking but never thought it would essentially eliminate it. If you have even a little on hand, you can do it yourself. Exactly. I agree that you need to use a smaller drill bit. I used a cordless drill and found that if I left it to drive screws in, they

Package Contents Wood Screws

There were several questions about the contents of the package, so I want to share these photos. The main package (larger white box (photo #3)) includes two smaller plastic boxes. The first plastic box (left) contains 50 Type B screws, basic instructions, a screwdriver and a manual. The second plastic box (on the right) contains an additional 50 "B" type screws, total 100 screws. I've screwed in about 35 screws so far to stop the squeaking in my hardwood floor with moderate success. Some…

Extremely useful when properly prepared.

Overall this is a very useful product that helped reduce creaking in an old house and bolstered the flooring project I was working on. I will continue to use this product in the future, but I ALWAYS test it on scrap wood of the same thickness before using it in the real deal. The hardness and depth of the wood will affect how the bottom is drilled and this step will save you from broken screws. However, the drill bit size of 1/8" hasn't worked for me in any situation I've tried. I would also…

Amazing product that fixed my squeaky stairs!

This product is amazing! My house has a 115-year-old staircase that creaks loud enough to wake the dead. I was looking online for options and was even considering tearing down the entire drywall in my basement to get to the stairs from below when I found this product. Although it's designed for floors (I think) it works just as well for stairs. The bottom line is hammering nails into the cheeks (the tree that holds up the entire staircase). For each step I drive a nail into each side of the…
