I used this brand and type. Type are cones and rods. for many years. I prefer cones to sticks as I can control variations in my shooting while sticks cannot. By that I mean if I just need a few degrees warmer or colder than the cones are glowing in the right position, then I can move the cone one way or the other and that will change the temperature a bit to get the desired result My work In my opinion this is the best product on the market to fire a cone oven. You can't go wrong with Orton's pyrometric cones.
