When I realized the smell was coming from the removable pillow and not the wood, I had to soak the pillow in water with bleach and soap. I took the table out of the packaging and immediately smelled a very strong chemical smell. I thought it was a piece of wood but it was a pillow. I got a headache about 10 minutes after opening the plastic and then I could taste it. it was terrible. If it wasn't for the appearance of the product, since the wooden part is beautiful, with a handle and light weight and a large size, I would just wrap it up and send it back. I have a cushion outside to dry in the sun.
