Poor bluetooth performance even with external antenna

Your mileage may vary but I haven't had any luck with this card and bluetooth. WLAN performance was ok. When the processor tower with Bluetooth is less than 5 feet away from the Magic Trackpad, I didn't get a signal and couldn't connect. I've tried orienting the antennas in a variety of ways, with no cubes. Then I read that some people with external antennas got lucky. I bought Bingfu external antennas (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TT4DCPR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and then I also needed an adapter (https://smile.amazon. com/ gp /product/B07Z34LCKC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I found a diagram of the fenvi T919 showing that the second antenna from the top is the bluetooth antenna. Experimentally this seems to be true. I disconnected all the antennas and tried them one at a time and this was the only one affecting the Bluetooth signal. With the Bingfu external antenna less than 2 feet away from the Magic Trackpad, I got -71 dBm at best. . At least it was usable now. Then I found another product (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H57Q1B1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that is a more attractive desktop solution. I was hoping the signal would be better but it was about the same. Finally I ordered a fenvi HB1200 card. With this card, where the antennas are 45 degrees from vertical and far apart, I get a -54 dBm Bluetooth signal using the Magic Trackpad. This led me to conclude that the fv-T919, at least the card I had, was either defective or not interacting well with my hardware (Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi motherboard). I have a wired ethernet cable going to this PC so I only needed Wi-Fi for AirDrop etc so I don't worry too much about losing wireless speed. In short, you may have a better experience, but I can't recommend this card myself. I'm very happy with its cheaper relative, the fv-HB1200.
