Although they are suitable for smooth rides, I lost 2 water bottles to impacts. I use Camelbak Podiums, which are normal water bottles. I installed them on a dual bottle mount that mounts behind the seat. I didn't know they left until it was too late. I used to have metal ones, for hundreds of kilometers this was not the case. But after a few years they started to lose their power, so I decided to try them. No more complaints, just want them to hold on. Now I check back after every big bump to make sure the water bottles are still there.
