Review on Zoeller 105-0001 Sump Pump: Efficient Water Removal, Compact Design, Lightweight by Carlos Burrows

My driveway changes direction as it approaches the garage. There is a useless gutter crossing the driveway to the garage door that doesn't connect to the drain pipe. I was looking for a submersible pump that could clean up the little lake that has formed by my garage door (and inside my garage) after heavy rain. When I read about the Zoeller drain pump, I was skeptical. but ordered. It really is an almost complete kit, containing a sump and sump pump, as well as a check valve, a couple of PVC connections and detailed instructions. After drawing a diagram of the required piping, I purchased 1-1/2" PVC pipe and some 1-1/2" pipe fittings from my local ACE hardware store, and a short piece of 2" PVC for venting. I dug a swamp hole by the driveway, near the garage door, and connected the water intake to the gutter. After a trial run, which showed that the pump was working properly, the pipe connections were cemented. I wasn't aware that a complete drain pump kit was available until I saw this ad for a drain pump. I couldn't be happier. No more stuffing the garage door with sandbags before a torrential downpour.
