Does HD3 work with your telo? Even grandma doesn't know!

Before ordering this Ooma HD3 phone I was surprised to read so many customer reviews on Revain that the HD3 was not compatible with the Ooma Telo base station. Finally, Oomas describes this phone, whether on Revain or Oomas own website, no compatibility problems. Listening to customer feedback on the Revain, I contacted Ooma right before ordering: an Ooma representative received the information about my Ooma Telo base station and then reassured me that this HD3 phone would definitely work with my Telo. But the Ooma representative was wrong. The first problem I had with this HD3 phone was that the cheap rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries that came with Ooma were completely dead on arrival: they wouldn't charge. Without good batteries the HD3 handset itself is dead. Luckily I had some new Panasonic Eneloop NiMH AAA batteries on hand so I charged them up and put them in the HD3. When the HD3 phone woke up to life, I tried to connect it to the OMA telo-base station. But the HD3 does not connect to my telo and indicates an error message that my telo hardware is not compatible with the HD3. How is that possible? Oomas description of the HD3 mentions no compatibility problems. Before buying the HD3, I contacted Ooma directly and I was assured that the HD3 would work with my telo. But HD3 doesn't speak to my body. How can Ooma design, manufacture and sell a phone without knowing that it will communicate with its own base stations? Obviously I'm returning HD3. The effort I put into researching the HD3, and then this purchase was a waste of money. my time. UPDATE (March 2019): The Ooma website has been updated: now if you go to the Ooma website and login to your account then go to the Ooma shop and view the page for this HD3 phone the website will tell you whether this is compatible whether the phone with your OMA is a telo base station.
