I have naturally very thick wavy hair that is difficult to straighten. I first tried a flat iron after letting my hair air dry as usual, leaving it quite wavy and fluffy. The product worked pretty well. Although I had to set the temperature to at least 410 degrees and go through each strand of hair several times before it became smooth and straight. I love how light the iron is and it's great for travel. This straightener is perfect for those with thin, less thick hair who just want a straight look. Perhaps not ideal for those with textured or straight hair.
