Review on ActivPlay Modular Jungle Gym Kit: Swing Set, Monkey Bars & More! by Dwayne Shavers

I bought this for my very tall 5 year old and the monkey bars are almost too low, but perfect for her now because she’s always been terrified of falling from them at park playgrounds. Although by looking at the parts, I’m sure that it can be raised by purchasing additional poles in a couple of years. I’n regards to the assembly. my biggest advise is to start with the the jungle gym base to which all accessories attach to. And most importantly DO NOT tighten ANYTHING up! leave everything pretty loose because you need to leave wiggling room for all the parts to attach/slide together easily. I guess it has to do with tension. So basically, you’ll be building the walls and sliding them together. If you tighten any of the screws to include the yellow protective caps, you will have a very difficult time and as one review I read mentioned, you’ll probably be wanting to hammer it/force it in. Also, really look at the pics of the poles for correct hole locations. The poles are numbered which is very helpful, but what’s a bit confusing is that the name to the poles include a number as well (side bar 3) and the pole Itself has a different part number on it, so just go by the pole part number in parentheses. It is very time consuming, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty repetitive and fairly easy. By the time that you get to start building the other accessory attachments, you’ll be a pro and they’re a whole lot easier. Another thing to note, is that for the top pole swing assembly, I did need to use the tool that is provided to tighten the screw and nut properly. Another tip, is to make sure you charge extra drill batteries if you have some, and in regards to the broken plastic caps that were mentioned in another review , I too received two broken ones, but I needed to remove them anyways because that’s where the attachments insert. Finally, I gave it 4 stars because what I just did not like, was the heights of the swing and gymnastic hanging part. The swing is waaay to low and it can’t be adjusted and the gymnastic one, is too high. I’m in the process of figuring out how to fix that. Tomorrow I might try some quick links to see if that can work, for now, I just flipped the swing over the top bar once, but of course I won’t leave it like that forever. I hope all of this helps some of you. I haven’t assembled many things, so by no means is this expert advice, it’s just my novice experience. My biggest pain while assembling it was that I was tightening the screws too much, while thinking that I wasn’t and I then had to go back and loosen everything up for the poles to slide with ease. Overall, my daughter just loves it a lot and refers to it as her ninja warrior set!
