The Aura air purifier combines the capabilities of HEPA air filtration, air ionization, UV sterilization and even CO2 detection and smoke detection. In combination with a smartphone app, it provides the local outdoor air quality in addition to the indoor air quality measured by this device and displayed in your app. In today's challenging health situations, I think this is a great way to keep the air clean. This is a wall mounted air purifier and as such requires mounting. It is recommended to place it at least a few feet off the ground. The installation process seemed easy and quick to me. The kit includes a template to drill 3 screw holes on the wall. I made sure one of the holes was on a bolt for extra strength. It comes with 3 drywall anchors for screws if the stud is not near the preferred installation location. I ended up with an outlet below my preferred location and to the right of that was a hairpin bend. You simply remove the front center panel, pre-filter, main cover and HEPA filter. The base is attached to the wall by screwing the screws through the 3 mounting holes in it. You can line up the screws with the marks on the wall that you made earlier using the template. After installing the base, you can reassemble the cleaner in reverse order. It's a simple snap-on process, using latches and magnets to hold everything together. The DC power cord must be installed on the back of the air purifier base before wall mounting. There is an insertion hole and an S-curved channel that holds the wire in place. It cannot be pulled out after wall mounting even if you pull the cord from below. Contrary to most marketing photos, a cord comes out of the bottom of the cleaner. This gives you just over 5 feet of cord from the base of the air purifier to the wall transformer. It must be within range of the power source. The package contains several different connectors for different countries. You choose the version for your country and attach it to the transformer. To install a cordless air purifier, you need to mount it over a large recessed outlet. I've seen some home entertainment systems where you want to mount a TV on top and push it to the wall. The recessed area should fit within the transformer, which is 5 inches high, 2 inches wide, and 2 inches deep. If you want to install high up on the wall and run a cable up from the top of the filter, I don't see any reason why that can't be done either. You need to install the app and connect your device to the filter. Wi-Fi signal to program the filter to connect to your Wi-Fi network No app, no Wi-Fi? = No filter. It doesn't work without it. Yes that is correct. There are no buttons or controls on the air purifier at all. You have to plug it in for it to work. The app was pretty easy to use and connected to the air purifier on the first try. I hope this works for everyone else, there will be lots of troubleshooting, complaints and negative reviews. I have seen other products that had problems setting up apps and therefore could not be used. neither consumer nor producer. However, this does not appear to be the case. Once you launch the app, you can select Auto, Hi, Low, and Silent modes. In quiet mode, operation is almost inaudible. In high mode it makes a nice spinning noise that I don't find obnoxious and you can actually sleep next to it. In automatic mode, it changes speed depending on the detected air quality and the settings you have set for the air purifier to operate. There are preference settings like "allergy", "mould", "chemicals", etc. I'm not exactly sure how this affects the performance of cleaners, but you can choose from these settings. It also has built-in CO2 and smoke detection. You can read the measured CO2 values in the app. Pretty neat. I don't see a setting to turn on the siren or sounder when smoke is detected. It doesn't look like it will work as a regular smoke alarm. I think instead it just lists the smoke as it appears in the app, along with CO2, PM2.5 readings and other measurements. All electronics are mounted on a base plate. This includes fans and sensors. It also has 4 LEDs placed around the top, bottom and sides around the fan. I think it must be UV emitters. I could not detect any "blue light" in the filter while it was running. I turned off all the lights in the room and took a closer look. They should be well covered and in the airflow. BTW, I removed the cover while I was working on counting the number of LEDs for this test. At first I thought the fan would keep running, but after a few seconds with the cover removed, the status light went from pulsing white to blinking amber and the fan turned off. It has security features. The app has a night mode setting that you can turn on. After entering the start and stop time, the air purifier will automatically switch to "night modeโ at this time. This reduces the fan speed to a constant average speed and turns off the status LED on the front panel. I like this option and find it useful. The air purifier creates a pleasant background noise for sleep. Overall I like this filter. After setting it up and a few days of work, I can say that the air in the room smells fresher and cleaner. I can say it's different. I have air filters in all the bedrooms and even the common areas of the house. I've been using them for many years. This is unique and slightly different from your standard version. I like the addition of additional sensors, UV and apps. I haven't paired it with Alexa and probably won't. I don't think I'll ever need to ask Alexa for my indoor air quality settings and just look into the app instead. The only situation where I want to connect and use Alexa is to create an IF This Then That automation so I can have Alexa warn me when it detects poor indoor air quality or smoke, and possibly more of a smart move can execute. Action. Okay, this review is starting to get really long. If you've read this far, you're probably looking for a really good air purification solution and doing your research. You're lucky. I'd say it's more expensive, but it's in the range of most wall filters. I think it's worth mentioning. I can see it's good for home and office use. This is a new listing and just joined the Vine program. I expect replacement filters will be available and listed soon. Hopefully they will be available at a reasonable price. It is recommended to replace them annually. As a wall filter, it's nice not to take up floor space. However, its thickness of about 6 inches forces you to look around to find the right spot, otherwise it will look like a big bump on the wall. I found it cozy and homely next to the computer desk and bedside table. Good luck finding filters. In the end I hope your lungs, sinuses, breathing and health will benefit. 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.
