I used these fans to replace/upgrade what my grand design used for the fridge fan. By default, only 1 fan is used on the lower inspection flap that rises above the heating pipes. It's a smaller fan and runs all the time on warm days and the fridge can't keep up with it and doesn't keep the temperature below 40 degrees. I replaced the bottom, upward-facing fan with one of these and connected the other to the top of the freezer access panel to help blow hot air out of the space behind the fridge. I connected both fans to the same switch wire so they turn on at the same time. there is no need to reinvent the wheel here. I will say that now in warm weather the fridge keeps the temperature below 40 degrees and now you can feel hot air being forced out of the access panel behind the fridge. I'm glad I took the time to make this small improvement that makes a big difference. .
