Bought a waterproof bag for the first time. I need to buy one to go abroad. I bought it because it has 90l and is not too expensive. The review below is for the design received only. No performance appraisal. Fabric details are sewn on. I don't see any sealant. The only stitching I see on the inside is for the main zipper. All other seams look like separate plastic patches welded to the main body. Plastic seams and joints appear welded (joined under pressure and heat). I don't see any wrinkles in the plastic seams. Welded seams 3/8" to 1/2" wide. The plastic material appears to be reinforced with fibers (mesh is visible in the material). The body consists of three parts to keep the number of connections to a minimum. Whole green peel. The two orange caps are separated. The bottom is reinforced with two layers of black material. The outermost thicker plastic layer sewn onto black fabric. The black cloth seems to be glued to the green plastic cover. Edit: Bag held before trip with 60lbs of stuff in it. The bag was left outside in a moderately strong storm for about an hour. Things got a little wet inside near the zipper. Lightning licked a little. IP65 is intended to protect against water jets. Maybe they tested with atomizers outside of the flash. Not waterproof. When you need to keep important items dry, don't rely on this bag alone. If you want something more water resistant than a nylon duffel bag, that's fine.
