red lipstick on a blue base; "pink pull " on my skin

I love red lipstick. It's my favorite thing to do, my signature at the office, Saturday morning at the grocery store, and fashion night. As a result, I've tried MANY red lipsticks, from drugstore to department store, and found hits and bombs on both ends of the spectrum and in between. an hour or so does it turn you fuchsia? That's what happened to me with this lipstick. To be honest, I used to wear red lipstick a lot, so much so that I never wore it. Turns out I need a yellow lipstick. Maybe even *slightly* orange. Yes, although I'm light skinned, although my color is generally "cool"; Blue-based lipsticks "turn pink on my skin". Red is a classic. Fuchsia can be amazing too, but it's a completely different look. As a result, I disagree with the statement that it is "universal true red". Sure, anyone can wear this color, but it doesn't have to STAY red. However, if you like the red tones on the blue base, let me share a few other things I noticed about this lipstick: I loved the packaging. Beautiful ombre body, from black to silver, with magnetic closure. So stylish! The tube features a whimsical tone-on-tone damask stripe, reminiscent of the color name 'Burlesque'. The color is awesome! Since red is my default color, I have to think twice before wearing it to the office or shopping on a Saturday morning. Also, the glitter made the texture a bit grainy (although no more so than other high end red lipsticks I wear a lot). If this is your first foray into red lips, this color could be plentiful. Or not. you know yourself better :)
