Review on Starrett KTX12 12ME N Precision Measuring Instrument with Enhanced Graduation Intervals by Amy Cook

This is my third Starrett tape measure and I am as happy as all my other Starrett gauges that fit snugly in my shop apron. I use them all daily in crafting closets and general workshops and have never had any negative issues as stated by other reviews. I wouldn't consider them for 'in the field' use though - they're not suited to that environment and I suspect that's where a lot of the negative comments come from. The return spring (I agree) doesn't fit every tape measure and is certainly stronger than necessary in some cases. However, judicious use will prevent accidents resulting in damage to the tape. I never found this "nuisance" intolerable or even bothersome, but I rarely had to extend the tape more than four feet. ideal for this environment. I think using the right tool for the job makes a huge difference.
