Review on 🧀 Bizzliz Waterproof Winter Gloves - Ultimate Protection for Outdoor Activities by Walter Devarakonda

Revainrating 5 out of 5

OK, but don't expect perfect water resistance

I bought these snowboard gloves after realizing that my old ski gloves were not compatible with touch screens. These gloves worked great with my phone and I was able to take some nice photos and videos on the slopes. However, when it comes to snowboarding, waterproofing has reached its limits. My hands were damp and cold most of the day. I also did a rinse test and my hands stayed dry, but running water over your hands in a sink isn't the same as real-world conditions. This is especially true when snowboarding, since you have to sit on the snow at least a few times per run to get your back foot on and off the board. Every time you do this, you're pressing these gloves into the snow with significant pressure. All breathable/waterproof fabrics (including the really expensive ones) have a limit to how much pressure they can withstand before they leak. This is usually given in millimeters: 5k, 10k, 20k, etc. This number represents how high a column of water (1 x 1 inch) can rest on the fabric without leaking. 5k is typical of cheaper waterproof/breathable fabrics. 5k equates to about 7 psi of pressure that the fabric can withstand. These gloves use HIPORA and don't give a rating at all, but I suspect they definitely don't go over 5,000. Assuming the average man's fist is about 10 square inches in diameter above the knuckles, if you push yourself with your fists, you only have to expend 70 pounds of force before the gloves leak (assuming they're 5,000). Also worth mentioning. The seller includes a card with a purchase that offers a $15 gift certificate if you leave a 5-star rating. Therefore, probably most of the 700+ 5 star reviews on these gloves should be considered paid.

Pros
  • It's OK!
Cons
  • Useless features
