I will not scold Startech. They do some cool A$$ stuff, most of which I own. However, lately I've noticed a few things about some of the newer products that I'm concerned about slipping into the "Made in China" mold. this type C block is a good example. It works as it's supposed to, but for the price I thought it would have a metal body. This is ABS plastic. A rigid Type-C cable can cause it to tip over. it also needs a way to power the hub so you can run external hard drives from it. If your computer only has a Type-C port, sell yourself cheaper if you plan to use more than SSDs and flash drives on this splitter/hub. If the case had the option of a detachable female Type-A cable, you would have more options. Personally, I hate the design of "Type C" connectors, which are too dainty for my liking and easily come off, destroying the connection. plus having these on the device itself. This seems to have been done to give the 4 low voltage USB 3.1 Gen 1 devices full I/O capability.
