the old 4.6 liter engine purrs like a kitten. Take a break before installing them. My 8's were between .040 and .075 when I took them out of the boxes. Perhaps delivery difficulties have closed a smaller but larger gap? To paraphrase J. Rabbit, it's not bad, it's just (lucky) drawing that way.
