My 5 year old slim and tall daughter wears pants size 6. Normally size 6 is perfect in length and a bit loose in the waist. We ordered a size 6 and they were very difficult to put on, too tight at the waist and short at the ankle. The quality of the material is good for school pants. We're ordering a size 8 to try on her as we love the idea of the elasticated waist.
