I've been using them for years. Once you get used to the new flat pack, it will be better than the old round tube. You just have to gently pull them out. Then you can run them over the bag with your thumbs to push out all the air and then seal the bag with another flick of your thumb or finger. This keeps them fresh and moist for longer. They work great and I love that they can be easily rinsed off because to be honest I use them to get rid of nasty stuff. :)
