When I was young I did ballet for 15 years and always wore Bloch flats. I returned to ballet as an adult and chose Capezio shoes - what a mistake! They were beyond terrible with tight and narrow toes and the rest of the shoe was uncomfortable. I bought these Blochs in black which I really like - it's matte black. I wear a regular 9.5 in street shoes so I ordered a regular 7.5 in these flats - note you have to choose WIDE and it will show as "regular" width. If you only select a numeric size, it will be narrow. Once I figure it out, I'll have the perfect figure! The toe box is not too narrow; The strap is in the perfect spot and the width was perfect after putting on the adjustable tie. This shoe has a firm sole which is important for me when climbing - the split sole in Capezio was terrible - I felt like I was balancing on a coin stuck to the sole of my shoe. These are leather soles inside and out with fluffy cotton inside. I'm sure they will last for decades - just like my last pair. Bloch has maintained its superior quality over the years, so don't waste your time looking for another brand.
