Good idea and this is an item needed to complement the ring and other products that use batteries. The packaging says it is a mount. for camera (not solar panel). So I called Revain and traded it in for the real thing. The replacement was in the same box but it was a solar panel. The box should reflect the item inside. The plastic part that holds the swivel head is cheaply made. I had to loosen four screws to move it to the other side so I could mount it to my gutter, which overhangs the top edge of my aluminum gutters by about 1/2". Upon removal, two of the four holes were completely cleaned while the other two remained lightly threaded. I had to put pieces of paper and glue in the holes so I could use the plastic part. In hindsight I had to send it back as my repair might not hold up well in the weather. The mounting screws should be about 1/2". be longer because if you want to install it on a gutter the screws don't touch the gutter so it wobbles on the gutter.I had to insert an aluminum spacer to keep the screws tight in the gutter.Some reviewers said that They had to insert a panel inserted into the solar panel, the one I received fitted the solar panel perfectly with no modification l slot.
