I haven't had a ViewSonic monitor since my dad gave it to me with my first computer when I was a kid around 2005 and it was used for a CRT. I had previously used a 24-inch HP 1080p 60Hz monitor and was looking for something slightly larger with better specs that wouldn't break the bank or look too "gamer" looking, but this one did to fit. my needs. The picture is very smooth and sharp, of course with refresh rate and resolution, but it also has good colors. I found my old HP monitor a bit washed out at times, even with its IPS panel and color settings. There's a decent amount of settings to really tweak it to your liking if that's your thing, but all I did was turn up the brightness a bit as I like a brighter screen without the backlight to influence too much. I haven't tested the speakers as I have a pair of Klipsch Promedia but I assume they are fine and will do the job. The thickness of the monitor seems average, but I don't have anything to compare it to, so be the judge. The only games I actually play are The Sims, Boarderlands and GTA 5 and they all look great on this thing. I installed mine with the Vivo Adjustable Desk Mount instead of the stand that came with the monitor to save space on my desk. I paid $279 for mine in March and it wasn't on sale at the time. So if you are thinking of buying a monitor, do so as soon as possible before prices continue to rise or stocks run out like graphics cards.
