In theory I think the subway tile template is a great idea, but since the 'gap' lines are so thin compared to the thickness of the plastic template you have to press quite a lot of paint to cover the wall, which of course means that the paint spreads a lot... unfortunately so much that the stencil just doesn't work for my purposes. If you want a rough brick look this will work, but if you want a clean subway tile look better use a straight edge and a colored pencil. As a result, instead of using subway tiles, I used a bowl and stick.
