I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. Working at PetSmart and using them daily, I've learned that you need to fill them up once or twice a day, maybe more often, but if your pet wants to eat that much then give it to them when they're hungry. I bought one for my guinea pig, he knocked it over right away but luckily there is a hook at the bottom of the stand so I hooked it to his cage and have had no problems since. It's easy to grab and fill, contrary to those reviews of people saying it's hard to fill, it took me 30 seconds. The easiest way to do this is to take a large handful of hay, fold it in half and stuff the hay into the hole. If you fill it with enough hay it will be harder for the animals to reach, meaning it won't get as crowded. I love this product because it gets my guinea pig working for the food and gives him something to do.
