I installed this unit myself. It was easy hook up, though special care needs to be taken when installing the indoor component to make sure you're aligning it correctly.At first, I was frustrated by the low volume of air I felt coming out. I thought that I'd just traded my 13.5KBTU unit for something that only claimed to be 15KBTU. but it was installed so I'd just see what happened.The unit does not stay on all the time in the southern Florida heat like my Dometic. At first I thought it just wasn't performing, but later I realized that even though it wasn't on all the time, and the compressor wasn't running all the time, and the fan was MUCH quieter than the Dometic it replaced. it actually maintained the temperature to what I wanted. So. nice trick! You got me.The thermostat is misleading. I don't think it's well calibrated. I set the temperature to 60F and it's comfortably 72F in the heat of day and cool of night. but I can live with that. I haven't tried the heating functions but I expect I will be satisfied with that as well as a tertiary heat source for the long, frigid, 2-day winter southern Florida has to offer.This unit was considerably less expensive than most other RV heat pumps, much MUCH quieter than Dometic Brisk Air it replaced, doesn't require any in-wall wiring beyond 20A power line, and up to the challenge of keeping the temperature comfortable in the tropical heat. Assuming it doesn't fail in 6 months, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
