Review on Flowmaster 12414310 Dbx Muffler: Enhanced Performance for 2.25 In/2.25 Out Exhaust System - 14 In. 304S Construction by Paul Green

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great sound, no hum on my supercharged 4 cylinder.

Application: 3" pipes, 18" resonator in the middle pipe, no catalytic converter, Mazdaspeed 6 with gtx3076. . The muffler almost completely eliminated these problems. The overall volume is lower compared to Dynomax. But the tone is completely different. What used to gurgle at idle is now more of a gurgle. There's some sharp mid-tones at moderate throttle that were lost with the Superflow. This is a smooth, throaty baritone timbre that doesn't sound hoarse. It still has that typical unclogged MZR bass sound, but without the low rumble of a mad tuba player stuck under a giant pile of ceilings. The biggest improvement that the DBX offers is a significant reduction in cabin resonance. The Super Flow hummed particularly badly at certain cruising speeds. DBX is easily 15-20 dB less at the same speed. In fact, I dare say it's only a few dB louder than the stock exhaust when cruising.
