This review relates to the Bear Smart Food Scale, a Bluetooth digital kitchen scale. This is a nice looking kitchen scale with a good finish and a thin profile at less than 1 inch thick. It works very well and is very accurate. When you turn it on, the letters/numbers become large and bright white LED characters and are very easy to read. It can reset the weight of a bowl or dish before weighing food and display the weight in 4 different units. It is powered by 3 AAA batteries and turns off automatically after 2 minutes. A companion smart app is also available, but the scale will work without it, so it's not required. I actually decided not to use the app. I love the smart home features and use a few of them every day, but that was a bit overkill for me. Also, I don't like holding my phone too much while cooking. I can see how helpful this can be for those who really want to keep a close eye on their food intake and all related metrics, but for my purposes it wasn't necessary. I absolutely love this scale and it has now become our go-to kitchen scale.
