Tempera is NOT permanent - the customer should know

Tempera is NOT permanent - a second coat (onto wet or fully dry tempera) will offset the first Layer. Acrylic paint is permanent and available in metallic colors. These metallic tempera paints dry great, but don't count on more than one coat or you'll get frustrated. These metallic tempera paints dry to a beautiful lustrous finish, but they are water soluble and the first coat will literally slide off when you try to apply a second coat or try to create a shading effect with acrylic or other tempera. for (silver, copper and gold metallic paints for a wall project) - and not understood, tempera paint can be washed. We bought them because our project was quite big. Delivery was ok, you get 3 large bottles of color (1 of each color). Not only was it difficult to paint over the white acrylic primer, but it was also difficult to paint over the acrylic primer (on the wall and wood surface), it was very frustrating to paint the first coat. Luckily, and quite by accident, we combined several colors of acrylic paint and a copper tempera paint, which creates a beautiful glossy effect. From what I've learned, maybe that's why we didn't need a second coat of paint and the project was actually mostly sealed. To seal the tempera - I've read that you can apply 1 coat of acrylic lacquer or diluted acrylic clear lacquer. apply to this tempera paint to seal it. It is best to use a spray or a wide roller instead of a brush and apply only 1 thin layer. Be careful not to apply more than 1 time to the same area as your tempera paint will also slide off from what I've read. however, it will appear milky and will dry well. Remember that even if the tempera has dried for several days, if it gets wet (whether it's paint or water you've painted before), it will slip and slide in a second. The wall project was completed and luckily we used it for the most part. Acrylic paint, however it does have some metallic elements of tempera paint - we may need to seal it (for now - we just don't want to touch or play with it), luckily the mural is indoors and not in a restaurant or bathroom where water or moisture is a problem can ruin it. If you're looking for metallic paint for a sign or a fun paint project that you can keep dry, you're fine.
