I just traded in my 38mm Apple Watch 2 for a brand new 44mm Apple Watch 4. So excited about the new technology, but also sad.Over the years I purchased a number of watch bands for my ‘38, most of them from Carterjett. I have 2 "tire tread” bands for water and bad weather, and one of their excellent NATO bands. I’ve found them to be very well-designed, consistently high in quality, and backed by a very caring group of designers and craftsmen.When I acquired the ‘44 and traded in the ‘38, all of my excellent bands were made useless. 🤬So I immediately started building a new collection of bands for my ‘44. First up: a new "tire tread” band from Carterjett. Excellent!So much for background.This review is for my new Carterjett NATO band, in black/gray stripes. Since I owned one of these with my ‘38, I can confidently make this comparison between old and new: the new band is actually better-made than my old one. The nylon seems thicker and more substantial, and the connectors are visibly, comfortably sturdy.Carterjett as a company definitely cares about their products and the customers who purchase them. Over the past three years, I’ve corresponded a number of times with a very nice person named Darla, who patiently answered my questions, fielded my wacky suggestions, and generally made sure I was a satisfied customer.To recap: 1) the fit and finish of this 42/44mm NATO band is excellent (I attached photos); 2) I know and trust this company and its ethos. Oh, and in case you think I was compensated for this review — I received NOTHING for my write up. I just like good, well-made watch bands made by decent, caring people.
