I daresay. Audiophile Quality Amplifier for $70?

I'm a certified vintage audio engineer, so I was extremely skeptical about the sound quality of something like this modern Chinese import with an (ah!) Class D amplifier chip devices ( Marantz, McIntosh, Dynaco etc) were made before 1977 and I love the smooth sound of my systems. Either way. I bought this amp because I needed something small and portable to troubleshoot a Marantz 2270 receiver that was making annoying static noise at low volume. I hooked up the 2270's preamp output to this little amp and stopped hearing hiss, which helped me determine that the 2270 needed some work on the amplifier boards. BUT. .something magical happened. The sound from this chip amp was just amazing! It rivaled the 2270's internal amp in many ways. It was full and detailed, and far more musical than I expected from a $70 import CD. It delivered crisp, clean performance with a killer soundstage. However, if there is one gripe, the slightly bright sounding sound, this can be quickly and easily remedied by adjusting the highs on your preamp. 50 WPC solid state amp) with a Marantz 3800 preamp. Let me tell you, this Fosi audio amp was definitely on par with a $700 vintage Mac! I couldn't believe it. At the moment my main monitoring system is a Fosi/Marantz 3800 combo. I don't know if the Fosi really qualifies as an audiophile device, but combined with the right source and speakers you can definitely get a lot closer to it. for a *share* of the price.
