Well I'm impressed - UPDATE
I can understand people being upset that this item was bought for a modem. There is nothing on the packaging to indicate a transfer rate limit. For fax or telephone, however, it works perfectly. open the box Connect one with two RJ-11 connectors to a phone jack and connect the RJ-11 cable. Connect the other jack to the desired jack and connect the RJ-ii cable. At this point you will hear a dial tone. The almost new house we bought was built by people who ran out of money. Rugged design, no landscaping or cable/voice jacks. I plan to buy another one of these. UPDATE Mine stopped working after four months.
