Our family used four of these backpacks on a two and a half week trip across Europe, carried them on planes, ships and trains and they have held up very well. I folded and folded the clothes so that the stack could be inserted lengthwise, allowing either the entire stack or just a few pieces to be pulled out easily. There is space for other utensils at the top, socks and underwear fit perfectly in the side pockets. Each of us had a small carry-on bag for personal items we wanted to access when traveling. I can't comment on how they hold up when handled by movers but the whole purpose of using a backpack is to avoid this!
