These are genuine Shimano cables with the SIS logo printed on the body tube. I bought this as a generic replacement for a rear derailleur switch. The kit includes everything you need for a perfect, quick and easy installation. Although I only have one derailleur (rear), the cables are perfect. The Shimano website has excellent replacement guides. Replacing my shifter cable was an easy job, about 1 hour total work that also included cleaning and lubricating. The very low cost of this Shimano cable set makes it excellent. A NOTICE. I couldn't verify if the cables are PTFE coated or not, and Shimano's packaging doesn't indicate anything either. As a precaution, I coated the entire cable with ParkTools-recommended bike lube when I placed it in the housing. This step takes an additional 5 minutes and is well worth it.
