Ever since I found this style of connector I've been using it on pretty much everything I think will fall apart. lights/relays/switches/etc. Keeps things neat and simple. You must have good eyesight and preferably good wire cutters. I've had no problems with them and have plenty on hand in all different pin configurations (2/3/4 pins)! They work best with probably 18 ga wire, but I've used them successfully with 16 and 14 gauge wire, you just need a little more patience and dexterity to crimp properly. Attach the yellow silicone water barrier to the wire. Then strip the end of the wire a little, insert it into the "cradle" of a small metal pin, use a small pair of needle tips to slide the front "flaps" over the bare wire (your insulation should be spliced). to this). Use a good crimping tool to press those "flaps" onto the wire (or just use the tip of a needle if you don't have a crimping tool). The back "flaps" then fold back onto the insulation (press down on them too) to hold everything in place. All I have to do (usually twice!) is figure out how the pin goes in and locks into place. You'll know when it's right. It clicks into place. I love these connectors, especially after finding the best way to install them. It takes a bit of practice to get it right, but I don't mount anything on my jeep without them anymore!
