Nothing quite compares to luminaria candles. I have them in every room in the house. I'm just one of those people who don't like to grope in the dark and live alone. Candles give off bright light. I don't want it to sound like an intrusive light, but it's enough to give the room a soft glow. I like that they turn on and off automatically depending on when I set them. I usually turn them off in the middle of the evening so I have enough light to see where I'm going when I go to bed. I love staring at the ceiling because the light shines directly over the candle creating a halo effect. My daughter in law couldn't figure out why I needed these candles until she came over to my house one night to light them. At Christmas, she hinted that she would love candles for a lamp for her own home. Now they stand on her mantelpiece and in various rooms of the house. I tried to buy cheaper ones but they cannot be compared. The lights are very dim and they don't last that long. Lumineers are a bit more expensive but worth every dollar.
