I bought this suit to keep me warm when I swim in the icy waters of Lake Michigan at 50-60 degrees and I have noticed very little temperature difference wearing this suit . I wear swim trunks but have found I can stay in the water longer because the thick torso keeps body temperature warm, but as far as the groin and thighs go prepare to freeze your balls if you wish. Buy this for cold water swimming. It is not ideal for water at 60 degrees or below. I will switch to a thicker full body wetsuit. Also, I'm happy with how well it fits me. I'm 5'8 and 220 pounds. I ordered XXL , you don't want to go big when it comes to wetsuits or it won't work.
