Update. Although I bought the switch almost a year ago, JideTech saw my 2-star rating and sent a replacement unit. I installed it on the same two computers and didn't have the problem mentioned in the review. At the moment it is fully functional. The only thing I would have trouble with is the aesthetic way of installing it, so the switch knob needs to be easily accessible, the switch and all the wires need to be visible. A remote shift option or combination key shift scheme would have made it a more aesthetically pleasing product. I don't need to switch much and I'm not used to using KVM switches. I ended up reducing the installation to one computer. A few months later I decided to try two computers on my desk. On the first day of use, the USB connection dropped every few minutes and reestablished itself immediately, but this hesitation leaves a few seconds unusable (meaning the keyboard and mouse are gone). It made it impossible to do the work I do. Maybe I just got a bad one, but it was too late to return it. Otherwise, it has the features you would expect from a budget KVM switch.
