Over the years I've tried many brands of water filters for our well water system and recently (December 2019) when I needed some new ones I decided to give away these PUREPLUS FXHSC filters. Try Big Blue 5 micron 10" x 4.5" water filters. Our water contains some dirt/clay which usually clogs the filters after about 2 or 3 weeks causing a significant drop in water pressure. Even if I use 20 micron filters (which let through larger particles), the timing is about the same - after 2-3 weeks the filters need to be changed. I've never noticed much of a difference between many other brands of filters I've used, but these PUREPLUS FXHSC 5 micron 10 x 4.5 inch water filters are different! It's been about 6 weeks since I installed the PUREPLUS filter but the water pressure has barely dropped and our still water is crystal clear! I unscrewed the filter housing to make sure the filter was actually working and to my surprise there was actually more sediment in the filter than when you normally change it, but the water was still flowing through it at a very high rate. The difference appears to be that the PUREPLUS FXHSC 5 Micron 10" x 4.5" Big Blue water filters have more pleats than most other brands of water filters, creating more surface area to trap sediment and keep water flowing for a longer time allow period. Time. I will continue to buy and use these PUREPLUS FXHSC 5 Micron 10" x 4.5" Big Blue water filters. So far I am very impressed with their quality and performance!
