Review on πŸš— Convenient Car Truck Rear View Mirror Radar Detector Mount for Escort Max Max2 / Max 2 / Max II / Max360 Radar (1" Clear Stem Space Required for Installation) by Alfredo Testerman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Seems to be a great alternative to the outrageously expensive Blendmount at the moment

After a few years of owning the Escort Max360 my original velcro mount almost stopped working as it lost its adhesive. and within minutes my windshield fell out no matter how hard I tried. I looked for other options and found that the Blendmount, while loved by its owners, is UNFORTUNATELY overpriced. Looking further I came across this one which cost around $13. I figured out what the heck and ordered it. The thing is a bit fiddly and the wing nut screws are unsightly to attach. Installation was a little tedious and probably best for three hands, but with some fiddling I was able to install it in about 10 minutes. It easily handles the weight of the very large Max360 and has a really good number of articulations to allow you to customize the detector to your liking. My car has solid suspension and the rebound I had with my original Escort mount is now GONE. I only installed it this morning so only time will tell its longevity but if it fails I will update this review. . For now, this seems like a great (albeit uglier) alternative to Blendmount. It's mostly invisible from the outside of the car, and inside you can only see the wing nut bolts protruding past the rear-view mirror (hence the ugly reference). 6 month update: Still working great. I've had to tighten the nut that adjusts the angle once or twice since the original install, but other than that it's been painless to own and use. Definitely worth the purchase price.
