Good quality kits but difficult for beginners

I have recently started embroidery and this is only my second project. I finished one of these and am overall happy with it considering it's the first thing I've made without a pattern that tells you exactly which stitches go where (on this one follow the pictures but there's nothing than the shape printed on the fabric). It says it's for beginners and I assume because it has detailed pictures and doesn't require a lot of specialty stitches. However, this requires some of them and the instructions (see image) are completely useless to me despite being an oral person/learner. They just don't make much sense. I realized I needed to watch a few YouTube videos, especially about leaves (the first ones I made were really sad, but I finally got the hang of it). Also, they recommend a skein in some areas but no indication in many others. I'm not sure if I should know the default thread count or not, but I don't know. I ended up using two unless otherwise noted and it seemed to work for me, but YMMV. Unlike other kits I've tried (2 stitches and 2 cross stitches), this kit comes with LOTS of floss which is great if you're a beginner as I haven't always been able to separate threads without to get a knot and throw out the whole thread. The picture is pretty easy to follow, although there are parts that are confusing (I was just guessing and it was usually fine). Each kit comes with 3 needles, but the included wire cutters are essentially useless - they don't cut at all. . Have scissors ready. I'm looking forward to tackling the other three projects after going through many tutorials. This is a great project to keep your hands busy in the evenings. I wouldn't say that's quite the entry level though. If this had been my first project, it would have amazed me. But with a little research and a lot of fun, it can be done. I would order again.
