As you can see my desk has always been messy so this monitor arm was great for freeing up space. That's the weight of my monitor. But it was the only arm I could find that was rated for that much weight.I was happy to know that it supports my monitor perfectly, I don't even have to adjust it to the max weight. This stand can handle a lot more weight carry than it is designed for. I bet it can hold something much closer to 40lbs if absolutely necessary. They also only rate this monitor stand up to 43" but it easily supports my 49" monitor. I have mounted the bracket on the corner of my desk to free up as much desk space as possible so I don't use the cable hiding system built into the bracket n can, but I'd rather have some exposed cables but have the extra space to line up my laptop with this monitor and stack the remotes, wireless keyboards, and game controllers I use with the 65-inch 3D TV me for a break on the other side of the room. Considering how much I paid for it at Revain, which was about $92, it was exceptional value compared to other stands I looked at that were much more expensive. This was actually the second unit I bought, another brand found missing parts so I had to return it and I'm glad I did and found this model.
