Review on CQRobot Ocean 6V 3W 26RPM 32 Oz and 12V 6W 52RPM 63 Motor: Efficient Power and Rotation for Deep-Sea Adventures by Sean Young

Lots of torque!

I ordered this particular motor for a robotics project because I needed a motor with more torque than my stepper motors could provide. The CQRobot wiki had information on how to hook up an Arduino to this motor, making it easier to control. A mounting flange and screws are included. The motor has a lot of inertia and the wiki clearly states that the motor doesn't stop immediately when you remove power, but you can look at the encoder output with your controller to see how much movement is happening and compensate for that with your reduce Either increase the power gradually or turn off the power a little earlier so it stops where you want it. I hope that was helpful.

Pros
  • Stall torque: at 6V: 32 kg cm (432 in. oz), at 12 V: 63 kg cm (850 in. oz);
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging
