The fastening tool is covered in chrome which unfortunately flaked off when I first applied pressure to the button. That means chipping the chrome plating isn't ideal in a home with a child. I could also use more detailed instructions - for example, you have to remove the plastic seats to hold each side of the bolt on the gun. It seems obvious now, but trying to follow the image verbatim in the listing took some trial and error. and - my biggest fear - getting in my baby's mouth. For these two reasons, I would not recommend using it on children's clothing.
