I pulled my SSD out of my old dead iMac so I wanted a USB-C case that I can use as an external drive that plugs into a newer MacBook Pro is (which only USB has connectors -C). I wanted an aluminum case as I figured it would be a bit more durable than plastic and would be slimmer and have a somewhat Apple look. The nicest case that wouldn't break the bank was the Nektek aluminum case. Build quality isn't quite up to Apple standards, but it works. If you're the type of person who constantly swaps drives, I might stay away from this case as the aluminum cover scratches the plastic internals so I can see them loosen over time. Another thing this case could have improved is some clear silicone feet/dots on the bottom of the case to protect any surface it might be worn on. Apart from these minor issues I am overall very happy with this case.
