Nice but big plastic threads NO NO

I really liked the look of the faucet. I installed everything but couldn't connect the cold water line. I even asked my roommate to try it but he couldn't fix it either and finally concluded that the PLASTIC thread had snapped off. Serious? Disassembled straight out of the box? I ended up having to buy a less nice local version for $10 more. Thankfully, Revane's return process is virtually painless.
